Actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Hong Hwa-yeon are joining forces to uncover the truth behind their families' deaths in the JTBC drama "Final Table" (Paineol Teibeul). Their characters enter a cooking competition to take revenge on Pyeongyeon Group, the business group they blame for their losses.

Episode 5 will air on Nov. 7. The story keeps building around "The Table: K-Chef 2026," the cooking survival show at the center of the drama. Kang Han (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), Choi Song-i (Hong Hwa-yeon), Cha Woo-jin (Chang Ryul) and Moon Hae-seon (Jang Young-nam) are all connected to the contest. Each has a different reason for competing in it or helping run it.

Kang Han and Choi Song-i share one thing. Both lost a family member because of Pyeongyeon Group.

Kang Han moved to the U.S. in the third grade and lived there with his father, Kang San (Ji Seung-hyun). He later lost his father in an unexpected accident. Signs have since pointed to Pyeongyeon Group and its chair, Moon Hae-seon, as the force behind it. Kang Han has vowed to get revenge.

"I will beat the person who killed Dad, no matter what," he said.

Choi Song-i entered the contest to clear her father's name. Her father, Choi Seung-hyo (Jang Hyun-sung), died after being falsely accused during a dispute with Pyeongyeon Group. Believing that a legal battle alone would not be enough to set the record straight, she decided to tell his story through the cooking show instead.

She is also trying to save Familia, a restaurant at risk of closing. These goals led her to form a team with Kang Han, as the two joined forces to take on Pyeongyeon Group.

Cha Woo-jin, the owner and chef of Exception, has a different motivation. He wants to beat Kang Han. Years earlier, at a cooking competition overseas, Cha lost to Kang Han's team and had to settle for second place. He saw this contest as his chance to settle the score.

However, things did not go as planned. In Round 1, he again fell behind Kang Han's Familia team and missed out on first place. Cha could not accept the loss and openly showed his frustration. Viewers are now watching to see if the two will face off again in Round 2.

Moon Hae-seon has an agenda of her own. She hopes the contest will restore Pyeongyeon Group's public image, which took a hit during its conflict with Familia. She also wants to pave the way for Cha to become her successor.

But she does not want him to win. If her chosen successor claims the title, it could raise suspicions about the fairness of the competition.

That leaves the four characters pulling in different directions. Kang Han and Choi Song-i are preparing their revenge on Pyeongyeon Group. Cha is focused on taking down Kang Han. Moon supports Cha but wants to keep him from winning. As the competition moves forward, their conflicting interests are expected to collide sooner or later.

Episode 5 of "Final Table" airs on Nov. 7 at 10:40 p.m. KST. The series streams on Disney+ in South Korea and on Amazon Prime Video internationally.
